.nu domains
Registration number required, a transfer code valid for 14 days and email confirmation of the terms.
.nu is officially the extension of the island nation of Niue, but it is managed by the Swedish Internetstiftelsen. In Dutch, Swedish and Danish, "nu" means "now", which is why the extension is popular in those countries. Anyone may register a .nu domain.

Registration number
A .nu domain requires a registration number for the holder. It consists of a country code in brackets followed by a number:
| Holder | Number | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Dutch company | Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number | [NL]12345678 |
| Private person outside Sweden | Passport or ID card number | [NL]ABCD1234 |
If the company is VAT-registered, the VAT number is also required.
Transfer code
The .nu code is created by the registry, not by the provider. It starts with NU-, followed by the date on which it expires. A code is valid for 14 days. After that, request a new one, see Requesting a transfer code.
Transferring to Knippin
Order the transfer with the code, see Transferring a domain to Knippin. Has the holder not yet accepted the .nu terms? Then the holder first receives an email with a link to confirm their details. After that, the transfer goes through immediately. The expiry date does not change.
